New Free Pump-Out For the Huntingdon Ouse Announced

You wish!
That had you going didn't it?
But we can make it happen. At a time of ever increasing boating costs, we must get the most out of our licence money by making sure "They" (Their acronym shall not besmirch this forum) spend it on us.
We demand (ok- ask very politely if absolutely necessary) a new, free public pump out between Huntingdon and St Neot's.

They could build one as part of the Riverside Park redevelopment in Huntingdon. (Petronius, When are you making me the forum moderator?)

We've only got a small tank and there's two of us. We have to empty it every month. Last year, we spent £115 at Hartford and Buckden for pump outs.

What about us with Chemi's? We need one like the Ely station. With a better drinking water supply, the H'don tap by the bridge is cr*p.

Why do you need to be anonymous when talking about poo?

Can't find the right place to put this but: Which one of you did the vegetable oil conversion on your BMC? How much did it cost and is it still running OK?

It was me. We're all down Bedford way if you're out this wkend. It's a "start on diesel, when hot switch to SVO [Straight Veg Oil], then half an hour before stopping for the day, switch back to diesel" system. It runs fine [c.50 hours on SVO now], I reckon quieter on SVO. Didn't really cost anything; I had the two two-way valves [fuel and return], and the tubing. I get the oil (out of date) in 25l cans (£8) from the wholesalers and just stick the tubes in the top [No need for extra tank]. Come and have a look.
